Averaging approximately 110 daily flights with nonstop service to 18 cities, the BNIA plays an essential role in the development of business and tourism in the Buffalo Niagara region. The management and staff of the BNIA strive to meet the daily needs of all its customers and ensure that each visit is a pleasant experience.

  • Departing passengers should plan to be in the terminal two hours before their scheduled departure, particularly during the exceptionally busy times of 5-7:30 a.m., 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m.

    Carry-On Update:
    TSA rules presently allow small quantities of toiletries to be brought through the security checkpoint. Passengers may bring typical travel items such as shampoo, toothpaste and makeup through security, provided they're in 3-ounce or smaller containers that all fit inside a 1-quart (not larger) clear plastic zip-top bag. Only one bag per passenger is allowed. This is called the 3-1-1 rule. Click on the TSA link below for complete details. The zip-top bag containing the toiletries must be removed from your carry-on luggage and placed in a separate tray prior to screening. Once you have been screened and are on the secure side of the checkpoint, you are allowed to purchase liquids, toiletries, etc. at airport shops and carry them onto the plane.

    Animals are not permitted in the terminal, or on apron areas, unless they are service animals being used to assist disabled individuals.
  • Family of Military Peronnel
    If you would like to be at the gate to greet or say good-bye to a member of your immediate family who is on active military duty, you may do so by requesting a gate pass at the ticket counter of the airline the serviceperson is using. Passes are available to members of the immediate family, i.e. spouse, siblings, parents, children and one additional pass. Each person is required to have a gate pass and picture ID to show at the security checkpoint. Children without ID are allowed to accompany an adult family member. Passes are distributed at the discretion of the airlines.

  • Did you know . . .
    The BNIA ranks fifth on the the nation's list of least expensive places from which to fly, as complied by the Wall Street Journal. The BNIA's price to fly, per mile, is $10.02, compared the U.S.'s most expensive major airport, at $20.63.
  • BNIA Workstations
    Workstations consisting of a desk surface, chairs and outlets to plug in laptop computers are located at Gates 14 and 20. Cell phone and iPod charging adaptors are located at Gates 4, 14, 20 and in the baggage claim area. They provide a rapid charge in 15-30 minutes for a full battery at a cost of $3 for each charge.
